Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy (PSMU) was opened for international students in 1992 by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. From the beginning there were very few number of international students at the Academy. In 1997 Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy's administration decided to work for enrollment of foreign candidates actively and opened a new faculty of foreign students and the dean's office for international students. Today there are 1426 international students studying at Faculty of General Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Nursing and in Postgraduate faculty.

Students from Algeria, Albania, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Syria, Sudan, Mali, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Siere Leone, Cameroon, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Uganda, Hungary, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Guinea, Cote D'ior, Iraq, Turkmenistan, India, Pakistan, Mongolia, China, Russian Federation, Iran, Afghanistan, Lebanon, UAE, USA, Moldova study presently at Academy.
